Build a web crawler for pricing monitoring of competitors
Sony needed a team to build a web crawler that would be able to monitor the pricing of Sony’s competitors. They needed it done as soon as possible in order to protect against lost sales. The web crawler was needed to scan other ecommerce website’s prices and compare them to Sony’s SKUs. It crawled and tracked competitors’ prices, and in the event of price changes of a competitor, it would send a respective alert to the internal medium at Sony.

Once Arvenda filtered the respective candidates with prior experience and Sony was pleased with the hires they began focusing on the problem of developing the configurable web crawler. The team built a stealth crawler that would go undected from websites like Amazon and Flipkart and pull data from it on a regular basis.
